Please note that the Cub Scout uniform may also include official trousers, socks and cap. However, these are optional items and are NOT a requirement of joining Pack 742.

Patch Placement - At bottom of page are attachment options that will give you more information on the initial patches to wear; as well as a diagram and photo of where patches should be placed.  TIP:  A product called "Badge Magic" may be purchased at Scout Shop to adhere patches to uniform.  There is mixed reviews on this product.  If you would like help with sewing of badges, the alterations shop by Garlic Knot (Alterations Plus) will sew all initial badges on uniform shirt for a $12-15 charge.

Webelos Specific

When Scouts reach the Webelos rank, they may choose to wear either the blue uniform that they currently have, or the tan/olive uniform shirt similar to the one that Boy Scouts wear. Please note this is purely optional.

If your Scout chooses to go with the Tan/Olive shirt, they will also need to purchase “blue" shoulder loops (epaulets).

As with previous ranks, the Scout needs to wear their Webelos plaid neckerchief and slide.

Badges
(please refer to your Scout Webelos rank - there are two levels):

Webelos I level :

  • If your Scout opts for a new uniform, you will need to transfer over (or purchase all new) the same patches that he currently has on his blue uniform.
  • At some point in near future, your den leader will be handing out Webelos Colors (ribbons) that go on to the sleeve of the uniform (pin-on). Please do NOT purchase these at the Scout Shop.
  • Our Pack does NOT require our Scouts to wear the official BSA pants, socks or cap. These are optional items. However, a belt is required. Webelos are allowed to wear their current blue belt (along with any belt loop recognition they’ve earned) with a tan/olive shirt. No need to buy a green boy scout belt. And, keep in mind that belt loop awards do NOT fit on the green belt.

You can find very detailed information on Scout insignia by going to www.scouting.org.

Webelos II level

  • If your Scout is keeping their blue uniform thru this season, you may either replace ALL the rank badges with the one blue “Webelos” badge that he received at spring advancement. Or, you may purchase a plastic badge holder at the Scout Store to house the new Webelos badge and wear it over the other rank badges. Please note a BLUE Webelos badge is required for the blue uniform.
  • If your Scout is starting with a new tan/olive green shirt, they MUST have the tan Webelos badge (not the blue one). The tan Webelos badge is to be placed on the left pocket. In addition, they need the same badges that they wore on their blue uniform (Council patch, Den # patch, and Purple Fleur de Lis patch).
  • Continue to wear Webelos Colors (ribbons) on the right sleeve, under and touching the U.S. flag.

Our Pack does NOT require our Scouts to wear the official BSA pants, socks or cap.
